Tim Mears
  • Senior Pastor

Pastor Tim and Christy Mears are the founding pastors of The River Church Delmarva, a church birthed out of a clear call from God to bring the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Delmarva Peninsula. Their heart is to see people encounter the presence and power of God, be set free, and walk in the purpose God has for their lives.

Pastor Tim graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from River Bible Institute in Tampa, Florida in 2017. In 2020, he was ordained through the Revival Ministries International Ministerial Association under the leadership of Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne. His ministry carries a strong emphasis on the power of the Holy Spirit, the authority of God’s Word, and reaching people with the Gospel.

After graduating from Bible school, Tim and Christy returned to Maryland in 2017 to serve in the Outreach Department at New Freedom Church in Sudlersville, where they were involved in evangelism and community outreach.

In December of 2023, Pastor Tim clearly heard the Lord instruct him to plant The River Church Delmarva in the heart of Delmarva. Since that moment, their mission has been simple and bold: preach the Gospel, raise up strong believers, and see revival spread throughout the region.

In addition to ministry, Pastor Tim has faithfully served the farming community as a Food Animal Veterinarian for more than 30 years, caring for livestock and supporting farmers throughout the area.

Christy serves faithfully alongside Pastor Tim as First Lady, bringing strength, encouragement, and a heart of compassion to the church family. She has a passion for helping people grow in their faith and creating a welcoming church community where everyone can encounter the love and presence of God.

Tim and Christy have been married for 27 years and have one daughter. As a family, they also raise beef cattle, reflecting their deep roots in the agricultural community they serve.

Together, they are committed to seeing lives transformed, families restored, and the fire of revival burn across the Delmarva Peninsula.
