John 3:3–6
2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 3:13–14; 1 Peter 1:23
Jesus told Nicodemus, “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
Natural birth gives you earthly DNA. Spiritual birth gives you heavenly life.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Peter says we are “born again… through the word of God which lives and abides forever” (1 Peter 1:23). When you are born again, you are not improved — you are recreated.
You may have inherited certain tendencies or struggles naturally, but spiritually you now belong to Christ’s lineage. Paul writes that Christ has redeemed us from the curse (Galatians 3:13). The curse does not outrank the cross.
Reflect:
Do I define myself by my past or by 2 Corinthians 5:17?
Where do I need to believe that the curse has truly been broken?
You are not spiritually stuck in your family history. You are born of God. His life now flows in you.
