Compassion is not saying, “Oh, that’s sad.”
Compassion is being moved enough to act.
Pity feels sorry.
Compassion moves forward.
In the Greek, compassion means to be moved from your inner being — from deep within your spirit. It is love in motion.
Faith works by love. If there is no love, faith becomes a mechanical religious action. But when love motivates you, faith becomes powerful.
Compassion is faith activated by love.
Reflection Questions:
Where have I felt pity but not taken action?
What situation around me is stirring my heart?
Am I allowing love to move me?
If God is stirring you, it’s not to burden you — it’s to flow through you. When love leads, faith follows.
