In Mark 4, Jesus explains that the seed is the Word of God — but the soil matters.

Some seed falls on hard ground.
Some falls among thorns.
Some falls on shallow soil.
But some falls on good ground — and produces 30, 60, and 100-fold.

The difference wasn’t the seed.  It was the soil.

The Word works. But distractions, worry, offense, and worldly pressure can choke it out.

The “cares of this world” can quietly suffocate spiritual growth.
This isn’t about condemnation. It’s about awareness.

Ask yourself:
•    Is my heart hardened?
•    Am I too distracted to let the Word sink in?
•    Are worries choking what God is growing?

The good news? God can soften soil.
When we humble ourselves, repent, and ask Him to cultivate our hearts, He removes stony ground and prepares good soil.

And good soil always produces.

Reflection Questions:
1.    What thorns (worry, busyness, distraction) might be choking God’s Word in me?

2.    Is there anything hardening my heart?

3.    How can I intentionally cultivate good soil this week?

You don’t have to be perfect soil — just willing soil. God is an expert gardener. If you invite Him in, He will remove what’s choking growth. You are not too hardened. You are not too distracted. You are still cultivatable.

Stay soft before Him.
