This week we were reminded that Jesus is the ultimate game changer — and the ultimate name changer.
So many of us wear labels we never chose:
Mistakes. Shame. Failure. Fear. Regret.
Like jerseys, those names can feel stitched onto us.
But here’s the truth: Jesus changes our jerseys.
Throughout Scripture, we see it again and again.
Mephibosheth went from hiding to the king’s table.
Blind Bartimaeus went from begging to seeing.
A criminal on a cross went from guilty to paradise.
And that same grace is available to us.
Because of Jesus, we are no longer defined by our worst day or our darkest season. We are defined by grace. The enemy wants to rehearse your past — but Jesus wants to rewrite your future.
Maybe you’ve been living under a label that doesn’t belong to you. Addiction. Shame. Regret. Fear. The cross says that’s not your name anymore. The empty tomb proves it.
If you’re a believer carrying labels that don’t belong to you, today is the day to lay them down. You don’t have to keep wearing a jersey Jesus already replaced.
Jesus stepped in. The game changed. And so did your name.
Loved. Cherished. Son. Daughter. Beautiful. Redeemed. Chosen. Forgiven. Free.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
