The priest passed by.

The Levite passed by.

But the Samaritan stopped.

Religion walked around the problem. Compassion stepped into it.

The Samaritan bandaged wounds. He invested time. He invested resources. He inconvenienced himself.

Compassion costs something.

Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.”

Reflection Questions:

Where have I been tempted to “pass by”?

What would stopping look like in my daily life?

Who is my neighbor right now?

You don’t have to solve every problem. You just have to stop when God says stop. Compassion in obedience changes lives.
