Throughout life, labels are placed on us—sometimes by others, and sometimes by ourselves. Some labels may sound like failure, broken, unworthy, addict, unlovable or not enough. Over time, these labels can begin to shape how we see ourselves and how we approach God.

The Bible reminds us that the enemy is the accuser (Revelation 12:10). His goal is to attach labels that limit us and keep us from walking in freedom. But Jesus offers a different voice—one that speaks truth, hope, and identity.

We must be careful which labels we allow to define us. A label only has power if we accept it; just because a label exists doesn’t mean it belongs to you. The enemy wants labels to stick because labels limit. Jesus wants freedom because freedom restores.

Jesus invites us to choose which voice gets authority in our lives.  Ask yourself today—what label have I been wearing that Jesus never gave me?  You’re allowed to take it off.

Reflection Questions:
What labels have you carried that do not align with God’s truth?

Are there words you regularly speak over yourself that need to change?

What does God’s Word say about who you are?
