The prodigal son came home expecting rejection. Instead, the father ran to him.
Before the apology was finished — compassion was already moving.
Robe. Ring. Sandals. Celebration.
But don’t miss the older son — he became angry at his father’s joy in celebrating his lost son’s return. Yet the father says “Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.” The older son was in the house, yet not living in the blessing that was available to him.
Don’t miss the blessing of your Heavenly Father! All the Father has is yours.
This week we’ve seen:
God is compassionate by nature.
Compassion moves us to action.
Jesus modeled love in motion.
Faith works by love.
We must extend compassion to others.
We must also receive compassion ourselves.
You are invited not only to extend compassion — but to live in it.
Compassion is a powerful force. It restores. It multiplies. It heals. It raises. It welcomes home.
And now you have a choice:
Will you pass by?
Or will you move with love?
Let your faith be energized by love.
Let your service be motivated by compassion.
Let your life reflect the tender heart of the Father.
And let the world encounter Jesus through you.
